Plattsburgh delivers

78 liter 4.2 and day!  Tried to make it work on the 3.7 but no dice for me… too tuff to get off the shore. The reef was working nicely and gives one nice wave if you time it right. The gang from Quebec city made the trip and all the Montréal gang was out in full force.  It always baffles me how we seem to be the only ones there… WAKE UP Plattsburgh! lol. What a blast.

Pretty close to as good as it gets in front of the house. Water was high and made decent waves possible.

Vadreuil secret spot

Today was special. We sat at Cartier not 200 yards from where the meter on iwindsurf is positioned. It was reading 25 to 30 mph but at water level we had maybe 5 knots. 28 degrees and the dome effect was killing any possibility for wind at lake level. Yvan our local guru spoke of a place where this effect is minimized and the wind flows freely. Man was it working. No wind on shore… we had to swim a bit to get out but their must have been 30 knots easy.  Most enjoyable over powered session I ever had without waves :-)

First day on Lac St Louis

•April 8, 2009 • 1 Comment

First day on the water at home. Wind was nice and the high water made for pretty nice looking waves. The launch at my place was crazy. Big pounding waves hitting the wall hard. Water is about 4 feet higher than usual so the boulders are all under water and create major hazzards. Nearly smashed my kit a few times. Forgot how choppy the lake is.. especially with high water as it creates a bounce back from the shoreline messing all the swell up. This side of the lake is better with low water. Maybe it will work if we get some side off conditions.

Amazing trip. 8 guys and plenty of riding. On the water at 8am every day despite drinking my face off every night. Good wind and waves first 4 days and then shlog to the reef and surf back. Love the waves in Barbados. Side off with about a 10 second wave period. Really worked on my timing and wave selection. Lots of practice cruising the reef and picking the best sets. AWSOME PLACE!!! Do it!
